Roman's Road
My Sin:      Romans 3:10,23;
"As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one."
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

My Penalty:      Romans 5:12; 6:23a;
"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."
"For the wages of sin is death ..."

My Gift:      Romans 5:6,8-9; 6:23;
"For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly."
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

My Decision:      Romans 10:9-10;
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

My Assurance:      Romans 10:13; John 3:15-16;
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
"... Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
Chosen in Him
Ephesians 1:4-5; "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will."

This Scripture takes us back to the very beginning; yes, even BEFORE this world was even fashioned by the Master's hand. Back before God drew up the blueprint for this world, the Scripture states that he chose you and me to be His very own. He chose us in the love only God could show.

He knew each of us by name: Mark, Jennie, Bob, Sue, Jack, Steve, Mary, and all the rest. God did not leave anyone out. He made the first move; He CHOSE you and me.

In that choice, God knew not only WHO each of us would be, but also WHAT we would become. He knew that one day we would turn our backs on Him and choose to sin; choose to do and act contrary to His desire and will.

Before the first stone was ever fashioned to build this earth, God had another choice to make; the penalty for sin. What would it cost the one, or ones, that would turn away from Him? God could not allow sin to be a part of His kingdom. He was about to build His kingdom upon a love standard; not sin. He made made the choice of penalty to be DEATH.

Understand this, that before God laid that first stone, He knew who each of us were, and what we would become; that we would every one turn our backs on Him in sin, and that ALL would die. We ALL needed a Savior.

John 3:16; "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

God knew, back before this world was fashioned that One would have to DIE in my place, and in your place. We could never pay restitution for our sin. There was only One who could pay that penalty.

Can't you just picture it? God the Father looked into His only Son's eyes, and said, "Son, I need you to be that sacrifice. I need you to die."

And before that first stone was put into place, the Lord Jesus Christ answered back, "I love them too, and I will purchase their pardon. I will love them to death; my own. I will redeem them, and call them by name. I will make them Hyy very own.

... At that moment, God laid that first stone to fashion this world. "Why would He do that", you ask?

... Because He wanted to!
